Commit to a small number of families
The strongest early decision is usually not collecting every tag. Pick one primary family and at most two supporting lines so the inventory and upgrades continue to point in the same direction.
A secondary family is valuable when it fixes a specific problem—room control, sustain, or a boss window—not simply because it has a high-looking tooltip.
Read the panel after every upgrade
The combo panel tells you whether the route is active, close to activation, or drifting. Check it after a new artifact or tablet rather than waiting until the boss to discover that the line never completed.
Record the threshold and the item that completed it in the page's build note. That is the information another player can reproduce.
Elemental identity changes the rotation
Fire, frost, storm, and other families can change when you attack, how long you hold a room, and which enemy you prioritize. The guide should describe the rotation, not just list the family name.
Use this guide in a run
- 01Name the goal
Decide whether the route is for first clear, Hard Mode, boss damage, or co-op support.
- 02Lock the core
Choose the weapon action and the artifact or tablet line that makes it repeatable.
- 03Protect replacements
Keep a damage, survival, and room-control fallback for runs that miss the ideal drop.
- 04Test three rooms
A build is ready when it works in a normal room, a crowded room, and a boss window.
Before you commit to this route
- Name the repeatable action the build is built around
- List the core item and two realistic replacements
- Test a normal room, a dense room, and a boss window
- Record difficulty, version, and solo/co-op context
