Use the Guardian path as a route, not a promise

The community route starts at Steel Greatsword, moves through Bone Mechanism Sword, and finishes at Creaking Spine. Its appeal is low dependence on legendary drops and a clearer defense-before-damage plan.

Because the record comes from version 1.0.23, the exact tooltip, connection, and balance need a current Journal check. The useful part that survives a patch is the order of decisions: reach, survival, recovery, then higher damage.

02

Build for one safe swing

Greatsword damage is valuable only when the attack begins and ends inside a real opening. Learn which enemy cue leaves time for one normal swing, a charged action, or no attack at all; do not use the same answer for every window.

Shield and lifesteal support reduce the cost of imperfect rooms, but neither should become permission to trade through every telegraph. The route is strongest when defense protects a deliberate punish rather than replacing movement.

03

Choose support by the failure

If you are interrupted before a swing lands, favor control, reach, or a shorter commitment. If the hit lands but the run cannot recover, prioritize shield, sustain, or a safer inventory line. If both are stable, add damage to the boss window.

Keep one lighter fallback plan for rooms where slow commitment is punished. That can be a movement tool, a room-control artifact, or simply refusing an optional elite until the route is ready.

04

Boss and co-op use

In a boss fight, wait for a named telegraph to finish, take the shortest reliable punish, then reset. In co-op, let another player create space and avoid swinging through the revive lane.

Record whether the result came from solo, co-op, Normal, or Hard Mode. A defensive clear route and a speed-kill route answer different searches and should not share one universal ranking.
